NinjaTrader SuperDOM on a VPS: Configure the Order Ladder

Configure SuperDOM in your NMT Windows workspace. Choose a ladder, check Level II data and mouse controls, and keep your NinjaTrader Desktop setup across devices.

NinjaTrader desktop workspace with charts and SuperDOM order tools

Inside your Ninja Mobile Trader VPS, open NinjaTrader’s Control Center and choose New > SuperDOM (Dynamic) or SuperDOM (Static). Select the intended instrument, confirm your depth-data access and adjust the ladder before using its order controls.

We specialize in hosting NinjaTrader Desktop on Windows. Configure your ladder on a larger screen, then return to the same hosted installation from a supported PC, Mac, phone or tablet. Our subscriptions include Windows licensing and 24/7 VPS support.

Choose how the ladder moves#

NinjaTrader’s Static versus Dynamic reference describes two displays:

Display What moves
Static Price rows stay fixed while the inside market moves up and down.
Dynamic The inside market stays in a fixed location while the prices assigned to rows change.

The Dynamic ladder can suspend its movement when your pointer is over it. In that suspended state, the ladder highlights red and shows the current inside market at the top; moving the pointer away resumes the dynamic display. Check that behavior before treating a stationary row as the current market.

SuperDOM is the ladder-based order interface. If you want orders alongside candlesticks instead, our Chart Trader setup guide covers that separate panel.

Check the data behind the depth display#

The price-ladder guide identifies the Buy column on the left, Price in the center and Sell on the right. The outer columns also display bid and ask depth.

Level I quotes and Level II depth are different data. Level I provides the best bid, best ask and last trade. Level II adds resting quantities at further price levels, as NinjaTrader explains in its market-depth overview.

For the futures contract you selected, confirm that your broker or data provider supplies the required exchange and Level II data. Increasing the number of visible ladder rows does not add a data entitlement. A chart updating with last-trade prices is not proof that your connection supplies full depth.

NinjaTrader directs equity market depth to its Level II window, rather than the SuperDOM depth display.

Make the ladder readable in remote Windows#

Right-click within the SuperDOM border > Properties. Use the SuperDOM properties reference to check:

Property Setup decision
Show market depth Enable the depth display you intend to use.
# of market depth levels Choose the displayed depth rows; available data still depends on the feed.
Price ladder font Make prices readable at your remote desktop’s actual display size.
Auto center Decide whether the display should recenter when the last traded price leaves its range.

Start with a simple layout. NinjaTrader’s SuperDOM columns guide explains adding columns such as Notes, PnL or Volume when they serve your workflow.

Verify mouse behavior before order entry#

The ladder’s Buy and Sell cells are order controls. Inspect the selected Account, instrument, Quantity, TIF and ATM Strategy, then confirm the mouse mapping in Properties.

Under the documented default mapping, a left click submits a limit order. Enabling Left mouse button is MIT changes that action to a market-if-touched order. The Middle mouse button is stop market setting also changes what the scroll-wheel button submits. Do not assume a click has the same meaning in every saved setup.

Check unfamiliar controls in your supported simulation environment with live execution and copier routes excluded. Our ATM template guide owns template creation and active-ATM selection.

For a pending order, NinjaTrader documents click-to-select, then click the new price for modification; Esc abandons the pending price change. The black cancellation X can cancel all orders grouped at that price. Confirm the resulting account state in Control Center rather than relying only on a disappearing ladder marker.

Keep the configured ladder in your NMT workspace#

Save the arrangement using our workspace guide. Reconnect to the same VPS and Windows user from your next device, then check the current account, instrument and controls.

For phone or tablet access, use our mobile desktop workflow to check touch and pointer controls. You are accessing the Windows installation on NMT; its SuperDOM setup is separate from NinjaTrader’s native mobile app.

Keep your NinjaTrader ladder and charts together
