You can access TradingView Desktop on a Windows VPS from your phone through remote desktop. This is useful when you need the desktop workspace alongside separate execution software, a copier, or other installed tools.
TradingView alerts do not need a VPS to keep firing. TradingView confirms that alerts run on its servers and continue when the app or chart is closed.
What the VPS adds#
A VPS gives locally installed companion software somewhere to run while your own computer is off. For example, a setup may use TradingView for charts and alerts but depend on a separate Windows application to process signals or manage account activity.
Identify where each component runs. A hosted webhook service may already be independent of your computer; a local bridge or desktop copier may need the Windows session. Keeping TradingView open does not establish that an external receiver accepted an alert or that a broker accepted an order.

Why not just use the mobile app?#
If you only need charts, watchlists, and alert notifications, start with TradingView’s native mobile app. Its alert guide documents notifications across web, desktop, and mobile.
Remote desktop becomes useful when the task depends on software or windows that remain on the server. It shows the Windows workspace on the phone; it does not add those desktop tools to TradingView’s mobile app.
Check the Desktop app’s requirements#
TradingView’s Windows Desktop requirements specify supported Windows versions, a 64-bit Intel or AMD processor, and App Installer. Windows Server is not listed there. Confirm the exact server image and installer support before choosing the Desktop app.
TradingView also works in a browser. When the Desktop installer is unsuitable for the server, assess whether the browser version provides the features you need instead. Do not assume that a Windows VPS label guarantees Desktop app compatibility.
Keep companion software on the server#
Install and configure the application that actually needs continuous Windows operation. Connect its supported accounts and test the signal-to-order path using its documented test or simulation mode. Check receiver logs and account results; a chart alert is only one part of that path.
Then use remote desktop to reach the installed environment from mobile. Keep detailed configuration on a larger screen, where account names and order controls are easier to inspect.
If your setup includes Windows companion software, compare trading server plans. A VPS is unnecessary solely to keep a TradingView alert active.
