What Ninja Watchdog adds#
- Crash and reboot recovery. Relaunches NinjaTrader and signs back in after a platform crash or Windows restart.
- Connection recovery. Reconnects Rithmic, Tradovate, and other supported connections, then waits for live data.
- Strategy restoration. Re-enables the strategies that were running before the interruption once the platform and connections are ready.
- Email alerts. Reports recoveries, trade activity, and order issues. Cloud monitoring can also email you if the entire VPS stops reporting.
Why it matters for VPS traders#
A trading platform can appear to be running while an automated strategy remains disabled after a disconnect. If you’re away from your desk, that interruption can go unnoticed.
Ninja Watchdog monitors the platform, connections, and strategy state together. You get recovery reports by email and can use Remote Desktop from your phone, Mac, or PC to inspect the same trading workspace when needed.
It runs as a separate Windows application, without modifying your NinjaScript code. Your strategies remain responsible for trading decisions. Configure recovery around your strategy’s startup and synchronization settings, and test it in simulation before relying on it live.
